Job description:
My client is an Ambulance Service based in Felixstowe.

You will work within the Ambulance Control Room and act as the direct link between the various hospitals, patients and the companies NHS and private healthcare customers. You will work closely with your colleagues to provide a quality service, putting the patient first and ensuring that they arrive at their destinations in a safe and timely fashion. My client provides both emergency and non emergency ambulances.



You will ensure that the information on the booking system is relevant, accurate and up to date to ensure that the most efficient and effective transport service is provided on the day. This will include checking with the hospital and the patient in advance for the continued need for transport and that the resources being deployed are the most appropriate to meet the patients need.



Where problems arise during the day in respect of transport, you will, liaise between the clients, patients and ambulance crews to ensure alternatives are made available and all stakeholders are kept informed.



You will be required to plan and organise dedicated ambulance resources to meet "on the day" requests for transport and plan patients' journeys out from hospital once their appointments are finished. This has to make optimum use of the vehicles and ambulance crews available whilst minimising waiting times for patients. You will liaise with control staff from the alternative ambulance services to ensure the use of resources across other parts of the UK where appropriate.



You will present yourself in accordance with the company uniform dress code and in the uniform provided at all times whilst on duty.



You will at all times promote and uphold the "Vision and Values" of the company and be focussed on delivering the highest quality patient care, improving the working lives of all staff to aid highest standards of patient care to ensure CQC standards and maintained at all times.



Person Specification:



Must have Ambulance Service experience either as Crew or Control Staff



Ability to work on their own for long periods whilst working within a large geographical team

Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds

Able to work on own initiative

Good keyboard skills,



Excellent telephone skills

Data input/database manipulation experience

Computer literate
Salary: 13000 per annum
