Job description:
Our client is a leading Mortgage company based in Ipswich we are currently looking for a Business analyst with the following experience -

Overall Responsibilities

* Define and accurately document scope and business requirements for projects and BAU changes
* Support internal initiatives and projects to improve processes and/or services
* Analyse performance of existing processes and identify improvement opportunities
* Ensure effective day to day administration of the change request process
* Collaborate with all stakeholders including project management, development, testing and servicing teams as well as external clients
* Provide a seamless link between Operations and IT functions
* Demonstrate and champion change management best practice
* Provide guidance and support at User Acceptance Testing stage and obtain sign off internally and externally (where appropriate)

General Tasks/Principle Accountabilities

* Produce business requirements definition to enable development of business change
* Organise workshops, including preparation of agendas, taking detailed actions, facilitation and circulation of outputs to relevant business stakeholders
* Produce, edit and maintain relevant process documentation including client manuals
* Define, analyse and improve business processes
* Actively seek opportunities for continuous system and process improvements

Decision Making

* Organise own workload to meet project timetable(s) and operational priorities
* Evaluate solution options and use judgement to recommend appropriate and cost-effective solutions

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Characteristics Required

a) Role Specific:

* Good understanding of the systems development lifecycle and experience of utilising business analysis and process improvement tools and methodologies e.g. investigation techniques, requirements elicitation, requirements engineering, process modelling etc.
* Ability to analyse complex scenarios and reach valid conclusions
* Innovative thinker
* Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels
* Competent numeracy skills and ability to analyse simple data/graphical displays
* Ability to take notes at meetings and produce concise and accurate minutes and reports

b) General Skills:

* Excellent IT skills including high level of competence with Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
* Detail focus with a high level of accuracy
* Good organisational skills, self-starter with the ability to work with a minimum of supervision with the ability to organise workload to meet deadlines
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain technical solutions to a non-technical audience
* Ability to build relationships at all levels, both internal and external with clients and/or suppliers
* Customer focus balanced with commercial acumen
* Ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team
* Ability and willingness to see task through to completion
* Ability to understand how issues relate to business needs and the self-confidence to propose solutions to senior management
* Discretion in the handling of confidential information
* Relevant professional qualification preferred
* Proven experience of operating in a financial services environment
Salary: 35000 per annum
