Job description:
A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced, dedicated Project Manager to join what is possibly the most recognisable organisation in the UK.

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the the companies Educational Devision's projects to ensure that they are delivered to agreed time, cost and quality standards. You will develop and maintain all key project documents and maintain relationships with stakeholders and suppliers. You will be required to manage multiple projects concurrently so a strong ability to manage a substantial workload and work to set deadlines is essential.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Project planning
To manage a large number of different projects concurrently, keeping each within specified deadlines and output requirements, including:
* Breakdown of project into viable work units, identifying required resources and outputs
* Develop and maintain project strategies
* Managing project deliverables in line with the project plan
* Managing project scope, change control and escalating issues where necessary
* Risk analysis
* Project documentation
* Implementation of project quality assurance
* Project closure and evaluation
* Developing and maintaining Key Performance Indicators for all Foundation projects.

2. Project implementation
* Track project progress against plans and support the divisions team to deliver against the project plans
* Manage and monitor project timelines, intervening or escalating issues where necessary
* Record and monitor progress against Key Performance Indicators
* Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, stakeholders and consultants to ensure timely delivery of work packages
* Suggest and implement modifications to project scope, deliverables, timelines and resources
* Monitor and manage risk and issue logs, escalating risks and issues where appropriate
* Manage and monitor consultancy contracts

3. Financial oversight
* Create, agree and manage budgets for the divisions projects
* Work closely with Finance colleagues to ensure that all projects are operating within agreed financial parameters and protocols, reporting on any material variances
* Oversee the processing and monitoring of invoices and payments in conjunction with Finance colleagues
* Work closely with Finance colleagues to prepare and agree sets of management accounts with cashflow forecasting/budgeting

4. Line Management
* Provide support, encouragement and development for the team coordinator to ensure high performance
* Create a culture where direct reports and consultants on the project feel enthusiastic and valued in their roles

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential

Education:
* A-Level standard education or equivalent
* Project management qualification at Level 4 within National Qualification Framework

Skills/Aptitudes:
* A proactive self-starter who is comfortable working with considerable independence and developing their own role in a rapidly changing and growing organisation.
* Highly developed written and oral communication skills, with experience of engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.
* Ability to manage relationships with stakeholders and suppliers, including consultants, build rapport quickly and encourage action when not directly managing them.
* Ability to plan and manage multiple projects, ensuring delivery to time, cost and quality standards, often with very tight deadlines.
* Innovative approach with an aptitude for challenging existing processes and seeking to improve upon these or design entirely new systems from scratch
* IT proficient with excellent skills in use of Microsoft office products.
* Ability to prioritise and manage own (and team's) workload and competing demands
* Ability to translate technical information

Knowledge/Experience:
* Experience and knowledge of effective financial and budgetary control.
* Experience of the preparation of financial and management accounts
* Experience of Successful management of projects, voluntary sector experience preferred
* Proven experience of end-to-end deployment of a recognised project management methodology in a business critical project
* Experience of people management (motivating others, planning and organising team workloads).
* Demonstrable experience of influencing senior stakeholders
* Knowledge of the educational landscape in the primary and secondary maintained sector and the current and future needs of school leaders.

Desirable

Skills/Aptitudes:
* Ability to analyse qualitative and quantitative data

Knowledge/Experience:
* Experience of working closely with the Department for Education
* Experience of successful event management
* Experience of working with Sage
Salary: 45000 per annum
