Job description:
Purpose:

This position will organise and lead a team of people in allocating workload and overseeing the day to day operations in the workshop. It requires the job holder to coordinate resources and liaise with internal and external key contacts to ensure work is delivered on time and to a consistent and high quality standard.

Key Accountabilities:

* Responsible for job allocation, job flow and efficiency in the workshop, including quality inspections at each key stage for all repairs.
* Ensure any special materials and parts are ordered for each job.
* Assist with quoting, ordering of materials and quality checks.
* Regularly report progress on each job and quickly communicate delays or concerns with Josie/Paul or direct to customer.
* Inspect vehicles when dropped off to identify the work quoted and any further opportunities for work on the vehicle.
* Responsible for providing cover in the office when needed to deal with telephone calls, new customer leads, emails, face to face customers and booking appointments.
* Work with Josie and Paul to investigate any customer complaints and concerns and suggest appropriate solutions. Discuss with team to identify any appropriate course of action.
* Identify staff that require ongoing training and implement training opportunities to ensure their skills are improved.
* Provide feedback to staff who are not performing to the expected level and ensure Josie and Paul are informed of trends in performance.
* Promote a Health and Safety culture within the business.

Skills & Experience Required:

* A solid background with a minimum 3 years experience in vehicle body repairs; specifically preparation and painting, the ability to strip and replace bumpers and wing panels
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Ability to work with people at various levels on the workshop floor
* Can look beyond the initial customer enquiry and identify other business opportunities
* People management skills
* Quality and efficiency focused

Able to work under pressure and deliver a high standard of repair quality
Salary: 14 per hour
